Cristiano Ronaldo Reportedly Boycotts Al-Nassr Match Over Club Management

Al-Nassr striker Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly gone on strike at the Saudi club, raising concerns about his relationship with the team’s management.

According to Portuguese outlet A Bola, the Portugal captain plans to boycott Al-Nassr’s next match against Al-Riyadh. Reports say Ronaldo is unhappy with how the club is being run by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) and is dissatisfied with what he sees as a lack of serious investment in the team.

Ronaldo is believed to feel that the club’s leadership decisions are negatively affecting Al-Nassr’s progress, especially when compared to rivals Al-Hilal, who have been more aggressive and active in the transfer market.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner joined Al-Nassr in January 2023 and has been a key figure at the club. Since his arrival, he has scored 111 goals in 127 matches across all competitions and provided 22 assists. His current contract runs until June 2027, and his market value is estimated at €12 million, according to Transfermarkt.

Despite the reported unrest, Al-Nassr are currently second on the Saudi Pro League table with 43 points, remaining strong contenders in the title race.
