FCT Minister Cancels 485 Land Documents in Abuja Over Verification Failures

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has cancelled 485 land documents in Abuja after they failed to meet official verification standards.

The Department of Land Administration, working with Abuja Geographic Information Systems (AGIS), conducted a thorough review and found that many of the documents were fake or did not pass authenticity checks.

In a public notice issued by the FCT Administration on Monday, marked Batch I, authorities confirmed that the invalid applications were removed from the land regularisation database. The notice specifically addressed applicants who submitted Area Council land documents for validation.

“This is to inform the general public, particularly applicants who submitted Area Council land documents for regularisation, that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory has approved the nullification or cancellation of applications that failed the necessary official checks for genuineness and have been confirmed to be fake,” the notice stated.

The cancelled documents cover several Area Councils and layouts. In the Bwari Area Council, affected locations include Ushafa Village Expansion Scheme, Ushafa Extension, and Dawaki Extension 1.

Authorities urged members of the public to ensure that any land documents submitted for verification meet all official requirements to avoid future cancellations.
