Bail Hearing for Ex-Kaduna Governor El-Rufai Adjourned to April 14

Justice Rilwanu Aikawa of the Federal High Court in Kaduna has adjourned the bail application of former Kaduna State governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai to April 14, 2026.


The hearing took place on April 1, during which the court listened to arguments from both the defence and the prosecution before adjourning the case.


El-Rufai is facing a 10-count charge filed by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), including allegations of money laundering and conversion of public property. He pleaded not guilty to all the charges.


The court ordered that he remain in ICPC custody until the next hearing date.


El-Rufai arrived at the court premises around 9:00 a.m., traveling in a black Hilux vehicle and accompanied by officials from the Department of State Services (DSS).
