Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has shared a lighthearted public service announcement (PSA) with her colleagues and fans ahead of her birthday, explaining the kind of birthday messages she prefers.
In a post on her Instagram page, the actress said she does not expect anyone to feel pressured to buy her birthday gifts. According to her, the love and support she receives from people are more than enough, and she appreciates sincere birthday wishes over expensive presents.
However, Wumi made it clear that there is one type of birthday message she does not enjoy. She revealed that she dislikes birthday tributes that begin with the phrase, "A queen was born," describing it as something that triggers her.
The actress humorously appealed to her colleagues and loved ones to simply wish her a happy birthday instead. She said a straightforward "Happy Birthday (HBD)" means much more to her than lengthy birthday epistles starting with the popular phrase.
Adding a playful touch, Wumi joked that people who write "A queen was born" instead of giving a simple birthday greeting come across as being stingy. Her post has since amused fans on social media, with many reacting to her humorous take on birthday wishes and agreeing that a heartfelt message is more important than fancy words.
