Media personality Oyemykke has weighed in on the controversy surrounding South African singer Tyla's upcoming concert in Nigeria, urging Nigerians not to hold the Grammy-winning artiste responsible for the actions of others.
The debate has intensified following renewed criticism of Tyla over her perceived silence during past xenophobic attacks against Nigerians living in South Africa. While some public figures have called for a boycott of her Lagos concert, Oyemykke believes the backlash is unfair.
Speaking on the issue, Oyemykke said he strongly condemns the xenophobic attacks that have targeted foreigners in South Africa but insisted that Tyla should not be blamed for incidents beyond her control.
