Media personality Do2dtun has publicly expressed support for embattled Nigerian dancer Poco Lee, while also stressing the importance of allowing the law to determine the truth of the allegations against him.
In a series of social media posts, Do2dtun described Poco Lee as one of the happiest and most peaceful people he has encountered, saying the dancer is known for bringing joy into a room, respecting others and avoiding unnecessary conflicts.
According to him, although he cannot completely vouch for what anyone does behind closed doors, his personal experience with Poco Lee has given him a positive impression of the dancer.
Do2dtun said he hopes Poco Lee is able to clear his name, adding that he would continue to stand by what he knows about him until he is proven guilty. However, he emphasized that his support should not be interpreted as dismissing the feelings or claims of the alleged victim.
The media personality acknowledged that the allegations being made against Poco Lee are serious and should be handled through the appropriate legal process.
He stressed that rape is a grave offence and anyone found guilty should face severe punishment. At the same time, he called for fairness for all parties involved, insisting that accusations should also be properly investigated rather than used as a basis for immediate judgment.
Do2dtun also referenced international cases involving footballers such as Dani Alves and Benjamin Mendy, noting that allegations of sexual offences can have devastating consequences for the accused, while victims of such crimes can equally suffer serious and lasting harm.
He further pointed out that Poco Lee had, in his view, maintained a relatively clean public image before the current controversy, saying he could not recall the dancer being involved in a major scandal.
Describing Poco as open-minded, kind-hearted and someone who values peace, Do2dtun said the situation would be painful for everyone if the allegations were eventually proven true, particularly for the alleged victim.
He concluded by urging people not to rush to judgment, maintaining that justice should be allowed to take its course and that the truth should ultimately determine the outcome of the matter.
