Nollywood actress Modinat Aramide Lawal, popularly known as Iya Dabira, has paid an emotional tribute to her late mentor and colleague, veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo.
The veteran actor recently passed away and has since been laid to rest, leaving colleagues, friends, protégés, and fans mourning his death and celebrating the legacy he left behind in the Nigerian film industry.
As part of her efforts to honour the late actor, Iya Dabira, who was one of Ogogo’s protégés, organised a special Salat (Islamic prayer) in his memory.
In a video circulating online, the actress was seen leading a prayer session dedicated to the late veteran actor. The gathering was attended mostly by women, while a framed photograph of Ogogo was prominently displayed during the prayer.
The emotional gathering served as an opportunity for Iya Dabira and others present to pray for the repose of Ogogo’s soul and honour his memory following his death.
The actress’s gesture has further highlighted the impact Taiwo Hassan had on those he mentored throughout his career, with several members of the Yoruba movie industry continuing to pay tribute to the late actor in different ways.
