The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been thrown into mourning following the reported death of one of its chieftains, Chief Daniel Osi Orbih.
Orbih, who was said to be an ally of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, reportedly died on Monday, August 31, 2026.
His death was confirmed in a statement issued by his family, who expressed deep sorrow over the loss while submitting to the will of God.
The family described the announcement as one made “with profound sadness and a heavy heart,” as they mourn the passing of their loved one.
According to the statement, the late PDP chieftain is survived by his wife, Mrs Florence Orbih, as well as his children, Ms Winifred Anwosiobor Orbih and Dr Mildred Omonemi Orbih. He is also survived by his brothers, sisters and other members of his extended family.
As the family comes to terms with the painful loss, they appealed to relatives, friends and well-wishers to remember them in their prayers during this difficult period.
They stated that further details regarding his funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.
The reported death of Orbih marks another moment of mourning for members of the PDP and political associates who knew and worked with him over the years.
