Nigerian gospel singer Toluwanisings has reportedly died, with news of his alleged passing triggering an outpouring of grief and prayers from members of the entertainment community.
The report of his death was announced on Wednesday by Pelumi Olajengbesi, the Convener of the Coalition of Public Interests Lawyers and Advocates (COPA), who expressed concern over the increasing reports of young Nigerians dying prematurely.
Sharing a picture of the singer on Instagram, Olajengbesi appealed to God for mercy while lamenting the reported loss.
He wrote, “My God! What a life! No, Lord! We plead for Your mercy upon Toluwanisings.”
Olajengbesi also said he was deeply troubled by the deaths of young men and women, insisting that such losses were not what God intended for them.
“We say no to untimely death,” he added.
Meanwhile, comedian Woli Agba urged the public not to conclude that the singer had died, saying prayers were still being offered for a possible miracle.
“Please hold on. Please don’t conclude. We are trusting God. Please,” he wrote.
Singer Boyebest also expressed faith and joined others in praying for a positive outcome.
“Yes yes yes. Yeah I have faith in God. I do. God you’ll do this one,” he commented.
The reports emerged about two hours after rumours of Toluwanisings’ alleged death began circulating on social media.
However, as of the time of the report, the circumstances surrounding the singer’s reported death had not been disclosed.
The conflicting reactions from those close to the singer have also left many fans hoping for clarification, with some continuing to pray for his recovery.
Further details about the situation are expected as information becomes available.
