Galatasaray Gives Injury Update on Victor Osimhen Ahead of Kasımpaşa Clash

Galatasaray club doctor Yener İnce has provided an update on Victor Osimhen’s recovery as the Nigerian striker races to regain full fitness ahead of the club’s Turkish Super Lig fixture against Kasımpaşa.

Osimhen has missed Galatasaray’s last three matches in all competitions after sustaining an injury during the club’s 3-2 victory over İstanbul Başakşehir last month.

The injury also forced the Super Eagles striker to miss Nigeria’s 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.

With Galatasaray set to host Kasımpaşa at RAMS Park on Friday, there has been growing interest in whether Osimhen will be available for selection.

However, İnce has stopped short of confirming the striker’s return, stressing that the club does not want to take unnecessary risks with his recovery.

According to the Galatasaray doctor, Osimhen suffered a significant Grade 2 muscle injury accompanied by serious bleeding and a large hematoma. He explained that the medical team used a different procedure, with the assistance of radiologists at the club’s sponsor hospital, to drain the hematoma.

Following the procedure, Osimhen reportedly felt much better and has continued with his treatment. İnce also revealed that the Nigerian forward participated in part of Galatasaray’s training session on Wednesday.

Despite the positive progress, the club intends to assess Osimhen gradually through further tests before making a final decision on his availability.

İnce said the same cautious approach would be taken with Wilfried Singo, stressing that Galatasaray would rather avoid rushing either player back and potentially extending their absence.

The club doctor acknowledged the importance of Galatasaray’s upcoming fixtures but maintained that the players’ recovery would be guided by medical test results.

Osimhen’s possible return would come as a boost to Galatasaray, but the club is yet to confirm whether the Nigerian striker will feature against Kasımpaşa.
