Gospel singer Mercy Chinwo is celebrating her son, Charis Blessed, as he clocks three years old.
The singer marked the special occasion by sharing a video of herself trying to persuade her young son to make a video with her and show his face to the camera. However, Charis appeared reluctant and refused to show his face, making the moment a playful and heartwarming one.
Alongside the video, Mercy Chinwo expressed her deep love and gratitude for her son, describing him as her “joy,” “peace” and “answered prayer.”
The gospel singer revealed that becoming a mother changed her understanding of love, saying she thought she knew what love was until Charis came into her life. She described him as a precious gift from God and prayed that he would continue to grow under God’s protection and guidance.
Mercy prayed for her son to grow in wisdom, grace, strength and favour with both God and people. She also prayed that his life would become a testimony of God’s goodness and that he would fulfil the purpose God has for him.
She further prayed that Charis would walk according to God’s Word, know Jesus deeply, love Him passionately and live a life that brings glory to God.
The singer also prayed for divine protection, preservation and goodness throughout her son’s life, asking that his steps would continually be ordered by God and that he would never lack anything good.
Concluding her birthday message, Mercy Chinwo reassured her son of the love he receives from both his parents, writing, “Mummy and Daddy love you so much, Charis.”
She then wished her son a happy third birthday and prayed that Jesus would forever be glorified in his life.
