Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson-Okojie and her husband, Prince Odi Okojie, have received widespread praise after going the extra mile to provide a new home for an elderly woman and her son.
Prince Odi Okojie disclosed the heartwarming development in a social media post, revealing that he and his wife were moved to action after coming across a video showing the elderly woman and her son living in a structure that was barely suitable for habitation.
According to him, the situation touched Mercy Johnson deeply, prompting her to insist that they should not simply watch the video without doing something to help.
The couple subsequently embarked on a project to provide the woman and her son with a decent and befitting home. About three weeks after sharing the elderly woman's story, Prince Odi announced that the construction had been completed.
Sharing pictures of the newly completed building, the lawmaker expressed his joy at seeing the project become a reality, noting that what started from a social media post and a decision to help had eventually transformed into a new beginning for the family.
He also revealed that the new house would be officially commissioned and handed over to the elderly woman on Sunday, October 4.
Prince Odi described the development as a reminder that a single act of compassion can significantly change another person's life. He thanked God for making the project possible and celebrated the woman as the “newest landlady in town.”

He explained that the couple had seen the heartbreaking condition in which the woman and her son were living and decided to intervene, adding that the new home would restore their dignity and give them a place they could proudly call their own.
