Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has shared a message from a man who said watching her boxing match against fellow actress Phyna changed his perception of her.
The man revealed that his wife insisted they stay up late to watch Nkechi compete in “Chaos in the Ring.” According to him, seeing the actress step into the ring made him appreciate the courage and determination required to participate in such a contest.
He admitted that he had previously judged Nkechi without fully understanding her personality or the strength behind her public image. However, watching her fight reportedly made him reconsider his opinion of her.
The man described Nkechi as a “true warrior” and said her performance earned his ultimate respect.
Sharing the message on social media, Nkechi acknowledged that her public actions over the years may have contributed to the negative perception some people have of her.
The actress admitted that she has been involved in drama, controversies and what she described as “online shenanigans,” adding that she takes responsibility for how some members of the public perceive her.
However, she explained that behind her public persona is a woman who is determined to survive and stand up for herself.
Nkechi said she is not seeking validation or asking everyone to like her. Instead, she maintained that people who get the opportunity to know her away from social media may have a different impression of her.
She concluded by describing herself as the “Misunderstood Sweetheart Nkechi Blessing Sunday”, stressing that she is comfortable with not everyone getting to experience the person she considers her true self.
