Queen Tobi Phillips, wife of the Ooni of Ife, has shared glimpses of her recent trip to Zanzibar, while offering her followers advice on keeping travel plans discreet.
The mother of twins revealed that the trip marked an important personal moment for her, as she had finally given herself permission to explore and enjoy new experiences after four years.
Reflecting on her journey through adulthood and motherhood, Tobi admitted that she had almost forgotten how much she loved adventure.
“Four years later, I have given myself permission to explore again, because somewhere between adulthood and motherhood, I almost forgot I love adventure,” she wrote.
In another post, the queen revealed that she had already returned from the trip with her children before sharing details of their getaway online.
She explained that, as an African, she prefers not to announce her location while travelling, especially when she is doing things outside her normal routine.
Using the popular phrase “village people” humorously, Tobi advised people to enjoy their trips first, return safely and only then share the experience with others.
“When you have village people, you learn not to announce your location in real time, especially as an African,” she wrote.
She added that keeping travel plans private allows people to enjoy their experiences without unnecessarily revealing their whereabouts.
“Especially when you’re out there doing things outside your usual routine. First enjoy yourself, return safely, then give them the gist. Some memories are better shared in disrespect,” she concluded.
Her posts have given fans a glimpse into her recent Zanzibar getaway while highlighting her decision to prioritise adventure and personal experiences alongside motherhood.
