I Slept Under a Staircase for 10 Years: Sanyeri, Golugo Reveals

Yoruba nolllywood comic actor, Sanyeri, together with his childhood friend, Golugo revealed how they slept under a staircase for 10 years when they first arrived in Lagos. The road to success is not an easy one. The story of these nollywood actors verifies this statement.

When Sanyeri and Golugo both decided to come to Lagos, they planned on staying with Golugo's sister who was living in a single room apartment with her husband and four children. When Sanyeri and Golugo got to Lagos, they could not live in the one room apartment with Golugo's sister so they had no choice but to squat under the staircase of the one room apartment. They lived there for 10 years-an experence Sanyeri says he'll never forget in his life. While they were there, they invited Bayo Tijani to join them.

The three of them lived under the staircase until 1997 when Sanyeri was able to raise enough money from his shoe making business to rent a wooden room. After they moved into the wooden apartment, Ibrahim Chatta came to join them and the 4 of them them all lived there until 2000 when the apartment got burnt. After the incidence, Sanyeri and Golugo went back to living under the staircase.

After a while, they were able to get a land, and they started buying blocks little by little. They couldn't afford to buy sands so they had to go to the river to get sands. With the grace of God, they were able to complete the house spending a total of #30000. In 2007, they left the house and presently, all of them who lived in the house now own their individual houses. The road to success is not easy.
