Gift Akindele,a 37-yr-old woman has being apprehended and ordered before a court in Lagos after she attacked a widow,Helen Godwin,bit off her finger and gulped it down her throat with co-tenants present.The incident happened at both parties' residence in Egbeda,Lagos.
Gift was taken to the Idimu police station where Helen demanded for her finger for fear of it being used for ritual but the suspect replied she might have swallowed it while the whole brouhaha as she was not certain if it fell off her mouth.On the day of the incident,Gift as usual,was said to have started with her mockery on Helen which resulted in words exchange and then a brawl where Gift bit off Helen's finger and swallowed it.Gift pleaded not guilty and was granted bail of ₦100,000 with two sureties in like sum.She was however detained in prison till she could pay the bail.
