N20,000 Each To 1 Million Poor Nigerians - Federal Government.

The Federal Government is reportedly set to give 1 million poor Nigerians N20,000 each, following the locked down as ordered by President Buhari, due to the scourge of COVID-19.

Sadia Umar-Farouk, who is the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, on Wednesday , 31st of March, declared that the Federal Government will be giving out N20,000 per person for the following four months starting from March 2020.

The President during his broadcast a week ago coordinated that the conditional cash transfer ought to be given in ahead of time of two months. - She further explained. 

In her words “We have directed immediate cash transfer to the poorest and most vulnerable households in the country,”

“Because of this COVID-19, the vulnerable groups have to expand, because we are aware that there are people who live on daily wage, so we are also going to look at those groups of people to see how we can get this food relief intervention to them in this period.” She added
