EFCC Ask CCB To Produce Tinubu's Asset Declaration Form As The Investigation Continues.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission Chief of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, took a different turn as the anti-graft body demanded copies of the Former State Asset Declaration of the Lagos State Governor of the Code of Conduct Bureau.

For the first time, the Peoples Gazette reported that the investigation into Tinubu began last year, following the resignation of the former chairman, Ibrahim Magu.

The then-Head of the Lagos Zone, Abdulrasheed Bawa, who is now the Chairman of the EFCC, signed the letter CR/3000/EFCC/LS/Vol4/322, dated 6 November 2020 and addressed to the Office of the Code of Conduct.

It read;

 “In view of the above, you are kindly requested to furnish the commission with the outstanding requested information of Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu.

“This request is made pursuant to Section 38(1) and (2) of the EFCC Act 2004.”

The EFCC's senior official, who confirmed the letter's authenticity, told Punch that it was part of a larger inquiry.

The survey, according to the source, was a response to some petitions filed against Tinubu since 2018, which Magu had ignored.

He said;

“The letter is authentic. The EFCC is in receipt of several petitions against Tinubu including one involving alleged fraud in Alpha Beta Consulting.”
