A South African Woman Sets A New Record By Giving Birth To Ten Babies At Once.

According to reports, a South African mother has given birth to ten babies at the same time, breaking a global record set just last month.

37-year-old woman Gosiame Thamara Sithole, already a mother of six-year-old twins, had hoped to have eight children. Her husband, Teboho Tsotetsi, told the Pretoria News that when she gave delivery on Monday, June 7, she was startled to see ten kids emerge.

In a Pretoria hospital, she gave birth via Caesarean section.

Husband Tsotetsi told Pretoria News: “It’s seven boys and three girls.

“I am happy. I am emotional. I can’t talk much. Let’s talk again in the morning please.”

Even when he thought he was about to welcome eight children, Tsotetsi, who is unemployed, claimed he "felt like one of God's chosen children."

Sithole, from Ekurhuleni, indicated that her pregnancy was unplanned and that she had not used reproductive treatment, which has previously been linked to multiple births.

Sithole's birth of ten decuplets would be the first known decuplet birth.

Halima Cisse set the previous record in May 2021, when she reportedly gave birth to nine nonuplets in Malia.
