"It's Not Compulsory That Igboho Attends, Yoruba Nation Rally Will Hold With Or Without Him" - Co-organisers Insist.

Following the recent invasion of Sunday Adeyemi, popularly known as Sunday Igboho's home in Ibadan's Soka neighborhood, there were indications that the freedom warrior had pulled out of the Yoruba Nation protest, which was planned to take place in Lagos on Saturday, July 3rd.

According to recent reports, the Yoruba Nation rally's co-organisers, Ilana Omo Oodua (IOO), have pledged to go ahead with or without Igboho.

The event will proceed on as scheduled, according to a source in the IOO, a body of self-determination Yoruba groups.

While the Lagos Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, has cautioned that anyone caught taking part will be prosecuted in accordance with the law.

According to the Daily Post, sources close to the IOO leadership disregarded the warning.

“What did you expect the Police to say? They are obeying the federal government. The Police told us not to hold the rally in Ogun and others but we did.

“It’s not compulsory that Sunday Igboho attends. I am telling you now that the Yoruba Nation rally will hold.

“The Ilana Omo Oodua under the leadership of Professor Akintoye already made it clear that we will come out,” he said.
