''Fake News" Ministry Of Information Reacts To Report That Claims Lai Mohammed Has Denied Saying Nobody Died At Lekki Tollgate

The Ministry of Information and Culture has called reports that the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, has recanted his comment on the Lekki tollgate "fake news."

The Minister has always maintained that no one was killed in the Lekki tollgate shooting on October 20, 2020.

On Monday, November 15, the Lagos state Judicial panel of inquiry into the unfortunate incident submitted its report to the state government, confirming that some people did die during the shooting incident and that the police and Nigerian Army are to blame for the deaths.

Many Nigerians have been waiting for the Minister to comment on the panel of inquiry's findings since then.

The Ministry of Information, in a post on its Facebook page, denied that the Minister had changed his mind. Please see the Ministry's post below.
