'Blame The Perpetrators Not Muslims & Islam.' Ibrahim Chatta Reacts to The Burning Of A Girl Student In Sokoto Over Blaspheming

Following Ibrahim Chatta's condemnation of Deborah Samuel's horrible murder in Sokoto, his supporters flocked to his comment area to express their outrage.

Deborah Samuel, a student at Sokoto's Shehu Shagari College of Education, was allegedly summoned from her hostel and attacked with sticks and stones until she was unable to breathe, following which she was set on fire.
The statement by the police reads:

“At about 0900hrs, a distress call was received from Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto, stating that students were rioting over one female student named Deborah Samuel, a level two student, who was accused of making a social media post that blasphemed the holy prophet Muhammad (SAW)."

Students forcefully removed the victim from the security room where she was hidden by the school authorities, killed her and burnt the building.

Reacting, actor Ibrahim Chatta condemned the gruesome murder of female student, saying;

“This is not true Islam, killing and burning for hate speech is nothing close to Islamic laws. You all should be careful out there. Don’t be inhumane by defending the religion you know less about.”

He went on to say that the Holy Prophet of Islam (PBHM) rose above insults at least six times.

Following his reply, his fans reacted in the comments area.

Some speculated that Deborah Samuel may not receive justice, as is customary. Others agreed with the actor, stating that Islam is a religion of peace rather than conflict. One commentator chastised the criminals but questioned why Muslims had not condemned the murder to demonstrate their opposition to such acts.
