ASUU AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OF NIGERIA MEETING RESULTS IN IMPASSE

On Tuesday, August 16, a meeting between representatives of the Federal government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) came to a standstill with no sign of the academic union's ongoing strike being settled

In an effort to settle the problems that sparked the strike that has lasted six months and counting, the lecturers on strike met with the Professor Nimi Briggs committee today for about three hours at the National University Commission in Abuja.

The professors who attended the conference and were on strike claimed that the Federal government delegation did not bring any fresh proposals to the table except pleading with them to terminate their strike by promising to include their requests in the 2023 budget.
