"I NEED NIGERIAN MADE HELICOPTER" BUHARI TELLS (DETAILS)

President Muhammadu Buhari has tasked the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) and the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) Kaduna with a new challenge.

He wants them to finish work on the first Nigerian-made helicopter before the end of his administration.

Engr. Prof. Mohammed Sani Haruna, Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive of NASENI, reported this at AFIT Kaduna while leading a team of NASENI Staff on a visit to the location of NASENI's new Aeronautics and Air Vehicle Development Institute (AAVDI) located in AFIT, which houses the Made in Nigeria Helicopter project.

According to Prof Haruna, President Buhari hoped for a formal launch of the Helicopter before the end of the current administration on May 29, 2023.

During a meeting with the newly appointed commandant of AFIT, Air Vice Marshal Paul Olugbeji Jemitola, today in Kaduna, the NASENI Executive Vice Chairman revealed that President Buhari was particularly interested in the completion of projects on the Made in Nigeria Helicopter during the NASENI quarterly briefing of Mr President by the EVC/CE on the Agency's activities last week.

He stated that the President precisely inquired about the ongoing work on the project, declaring that President Buhari's question on the Helicopter project indicated that the President was keen on the need to complete work on the Helicopter manufacturing.

Replying the Commandant of AFIT, Air Vice Marshal Jemitola stated that the order from Mr.President 

He said:

"is a task that must be carried out on the completion of work on the project".

As according him 

He said: 

"no stone will be left unturned in order to accomplish the work so that the desire of Mr President on the Helicopter Project will be realized".
