Nigerian Singer Portable Reveals Shocking Reason Why He Beat Man Who Brought Police To Arrest Him

Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has provided an explanation about his altercation with an alleged internet fraudster who brought the police to arrest him. The 'Zazoo' crooner gained notoriety after a video of him lambasting police officers who stormed his bar in Sanga Ota, Ogun State, went viral. The singer had resisted arrest, claiming that he was a superstar who worked for the ruling party. As a result, the Ogun State Police Command gave him a 72-hour ultimatum to report himself to the nearest police station or face arrest.

In a new video shared on his Tiktok page, Portable stated that what happened between him and the complainant was none of the police's business. He clarified that the petitioner was his apprentice who was into internet fraud against his advice. After disciplining the ex-worker for his involvement in the scam, Portable sacked him. However, the ex-worker filed a case of assault against him at the police station for merely correcting him.

In a mix of Pidgin English and Yoruba, the singer explained that the boy he beat was his apprentice, and he was merely doing what a boss would do. He added that he had advised the boy to quit the scam, but he refused to listen. Portable pursued him, beat him, and flogged him before sacking him. He expressed his surprise that the ex-worker would write a petition about him, a celebrity superstar, and claimed that his music career was legitimate. He also stated that he had no fear of anyone except God.
