Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has voiced her concerns about the negative impact of godfatherism in the entertainment world.
Following the tragic passing of Mohbad, she highlighted how deadly mistakes can lead to the downfall of individuals who have godfathers or godmothers.
Wumi pointed out that such influential figures often obstruct potential helpers for their proteges, eliminate opportunities, foster animosity, and more.
She added that this is precisely why she and others have chosen to be self-reliant as their own godfathers, godmothers, and goddaughters.
"Godfatherism/motherism can lead to serious consequences, including missed opportunities and animosity. That's why some of us prefer to rely on ourselves and pray for divine helpers," Wumi expressed.
