Atiku Abubakar Exposes Secret Meeting: Claims Bola Tinubu Sent Governors to Beg Him After Election

Opposition candidate Atiku Abubakar has claimed that President Bola Tinubu sent a delegation of governors to request a meeting with him after the February 25th presidential election, but he declined their request.

Speaking at a world press conference regarding Mr. Tinubu's controversial academic record, Atiku Abubakar stated that he did not allow the delegation of governors sent by the president to enter his house.

He further emphasized his commitment to pursuing his case against Mr. Tinubu legally until a ruling is made by the Supreme Court, stating, "I will only drop the fight when the court rules. If the court rules that I am right, fine. If the court rules that he is right, fine. So that's the end of the fight, because, at the moment, we are at the Supreme Court, and there is no other higher court than the Supreme Court."

Following persistent resistance from Mr. Tinubu, the court eventually compelled the institution, CSU, to release Mr. Tinubu's academic records. This led to a deposition by CSU, revealing that Mr. Tinubu had presented a forged certificate to the Nigerian electoral body.

CSU's deposition has triggered reactions among Nigerians, with many calling for Mr. Tinubu's removal in accordance with the Nigerian Constitution. Section 137 (1)(j) of the Nigerian Constitution (amended in 2010) specifically states that no one can be legitimately elected as president of Nigeria if they "have presented a forged certificate to the Independent National Electoral Commission."
