Guinness Ambition: Nigerian artist, Lola Mewu's Remarkable Quest to Beat World Painting Record

In a remarkable feat, Nigerian artist Lola Mewu is currently striving to set a new world record for the longest painting marathon. Several months ago, she announced her ambitious goal of breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest continuous painting session, and Guinness World Records gave their approval. Lola embarked on her artistic journey at 6:30 pm on Saturday, October 28, 2023.

By 1:30 pm on Monday, October 30, Lola had already surpassed the impressive 43-hour mark in her painting marathon. Her artworks capture nostalgic childhood activities, such as playing in class, visiting a call center, and gazing out the window. Notably, some of these paintings have already been auctioned off, in accordance with Guinness World Record regulations.

Lola's ultimate objective is to surpass the existing record held by Ronald Palmaerts, who painted for an uninterrupted 60 hours back in 2013. The talented artist is anticipated to successfully complete her challenge by Tuesday, October 31.

Lola's remarkable endeavor follows in the footsteps of Hilda Baci, who previously broke the Guinness World Record for continuous cooking, inspiring numerous Nigerians to pursue their dreams of becoming record breakers.
