Burna Boy Reveals Why He Turned Down $5 Million Deal in Dubai

Nigerian Afrobeat sensation Burna Boy, a Grammy-winning artist, recently disclosed a surprising reason for rejecting a lucrative $5 million offer in Dubai. According to the musician, he declined the offer to perform in the United Arab Emirates due to restrictions on smoking weed.

Burna Boy emphasized that the Emirati law prohibits smoking in public recreational areas, including parks and beaches, which made the deal undesirable for him. He explained his unwillingness to go to a place where he would be unable to smoke freely.

"Just now I turned down Dubai money, 5 million dollars na small thing cos me I no dey like to dey go where Dem no go gree allow me to smoke Igbo."

This revelation has prompted mixed reactions, with some defending Burna Boy's decision.

It's worth noting that Burna Boy has been an advocate for the legalization of marijuana in Nigeria, citing hypocrisy as the reason it remains illegal.

Burna Boy is not the only Nigerian artist known for their affinity for smoking. Controversial singer Naira Marley has also expressed his addiction to smoking and prayed to God not to give him a reason to quit.
