Outrage Grows as Mohbad's Attorney Provides Royalties Update

The attorney for late Nigerian singer Ileriouluwa Oladimeji Aloba, known as Mohbad, has provided an update on the legal battle concerning the artist's royalties. The lawyer revealed that Mohbad had certain arrangements with Marlian Records that cannot be classified as a standard record label agreement. Mohbad released an Extended Play (EP) and several singles while working with the label before establishing his own company, Imolenization Limited.

Efforts are underway to retrieve the EPs and singles produced during his time with Marlian Records, and the matter remains unresolved in court.

Reaction from the public has been mixed, with some expressing sympathy for the artist's struggles both during his life and after his death. They emphasized the importance of obtaining justice and royalties for his legacy.

Last month, the House of Representatives summoned singer Naira Marley and Mohbad's manager, Jiggy Adeoye, to address concerns regarding Mohbad's works and ensure proper compensation and royalties for the late artist.

Mohbad, a former signee of Naira Marley's record label, tragically passed away at the age of 27 on September 12. His team is determined to fight for his musical catalog and ensure his legacy endures.
