JAMB Announces Increase in Registration Fees for 2024 UTME

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially raised the registration fees for the 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME). The announcement was made through a statement on the board's official platform.

The UTME is a mandatory Computer-Based Test for admission seekers into Nigerian tertiary institutions, with approximately 1.5 million candidates taking the test annually. JAMB stated that the sale of registration forms for the 2024 UTME will commence from January 15 through February 2024.

In the previous year's UTME (2023), candidates were charged N4,700 for registration, with an additional N1,000 for those opting for the voluntary Mock exams. However, for the upcoming 2024 exercise, the registration fee has been increased to N6,200. Candidates interested in taking the voluntary mock exams will need to pay an extra N1,500.

The news of the fee adjustment has sparked discussions among prospective candidates and stakeholders, as they prepare for the upcoming UTME registration.
