Nigerian Art Student Chancellor Ahaghotu Smashes Guinness World Record with 100-Hour Painting Marathon

Chancellor Ahaghotu, a Nigerian art student at the Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta, USA, has achieved a remarkable feat by breaking a decade-old Guinness World Record for the longest painting marathon, lasting an astounding 100 hours. The previous record, set in 2013 by Roland Palmaerts from Belgium/Canada, was surpassed by Chancellor's dedication and talent.

Commencing on October 26 and concluding on October 30, Chancellor spent four days tirelessly creating 106 pieces of art, covering a diverse range of subjects like celebrities, food items, plants, animals, and more. Speaking on his achievement, Chancellor expressed his aspiration to boost his recognition as an artist both within his school and globally.

The paintings, according to Chancellor, not only showcase his artistic skills but also reflect his various moods and emotions during their creation. Despite battling fatigue around the 88-hour mark, Chancellor remained committed to reaching his target of 100 hours, foregoing any thoughts of ending the record attempt.

Upon completing the 100-hour painting marathon, Chancellor described the experience as joyful and celebratory. This accomplishment marks a significant milestone in his artistic journey, contributing to his career aspirations and elevating his standing in the art world.
