After initially declining to host the business and investment forum suggested by President Bola Tinubu, Qatar has reversed its decision. The Arab country is now set to host the forum, which Tinubu is scheduled to attend on March 2, 2024.
A leaked memo revealed Qatar's initial refusal, citing the unavailability of Mohammed Bin Hamad Al-Thani, the country's minister of commerce and industry. Additionally, the Qatar embassy in Abuja stated that there was no formal agreement between Qatar and Nigeria regarding the forum.
However, Qatar has reconsidered its stance and has agreed to hold the business forum as proposed by Nigeria. This reversal marks a significant development in the diplomatic relations between the two nations.
