Lagos Official Reveals When the Late Singer Mohbad's Autopsy Results Would Be Ready

Dr. Richard Somiari, Director of the Lagos State DNA and Forensic Centre, announced that the autopsy results for late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, will be available within the next three to four weeks. This disclosure was made during his testimony on Wednesday, March 20, as part of a coroner's inquest into Mohbad's death.

The witness, Dr. Somiari, faced questioning from the defense counsel during the inquest. Mohbad, aged 27, passed away on September 12, 2023, under circumstances that sparked controversies, prompting the Lagos State Government to initiate the coroner's inquest, which commenced on October 13, 2023.

At the latest hearing on March 20, Dr. Somiari informed the Coroner, Magistrate Adedayo Shotobi, about the expected timeline for the autopsy results. He stated, "We expected to get the first set of autopsy results in three to four weeks and re-confirm to authenticate the cause of the death." Dr. Somiari also mentioned the thorough investigation into various possibilities, including the presence of poison.

Furthermore, Dr. Somiari assured the public regarding the security and monitoring of the autopsy samples. He explained, "We have a place where items are stored for safety and security of results. There is a procedure for monitoring samples moved abroad."
