Two employees were suspended for performing rituals in the office

Two employees of the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) found themselves suspended following a disturbing incident captured on CCTV.

The footage revealed the SASSA officials, accompanied by two other individuals, entering the office premises after hours.

In the video, one individual was seen carrying what appeared to be a snake, while another was observed sprinkling liquid throughout the office space.

The peculiar activities came to light the next day when colleagues returned to work and discovered needles and suspicious substances at their workstations.

Concerned by what they found, the employees promptly reported the incident to their superiors.

Senzeni Ngubeni, spokesperson for SASSA in Mpumalanga, confirmed that two officials involved in the incident have been suspended pending investigations.

Ngubeni emphasized that the agency is taking the matter seriously and is conducting a thorough inquiry into the conduct of the employees.

In response to the incident, arrangements have been made to relocate SASSA services to a community hall while the office undergoes cleaning and fumigation.

Members of the public have been informed of the temporary relocation and are encouraged to utilize the community hall for SASSA-related matters until further notice.
