Toyin Abraham faces backlash over her appreciation note to the host of AMVCA amid Funke Akindele’s snub.

Toyin Abraham, a prominent figure in Nollywood, found herself at the center of controversy following her post about the 10th African Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA). The actress took to social media to commend Bisola Tejumola, the Executive Head of Multichoice, for her efforts in organizing the event held at Eko Hotel and Suites on May 11th.

In her post, Abraham praised this year's AMVCA as the "best and realest," expressing appreciation for Tejumola's role in its success. However, her remarks were interpreted by some as a veiled criticism of her colleague, Funke Akindele, who did not win any awards at the ceremony.

Abraham's comments sparked a wave of backlash from social media users who perceived them as divisive and unnecessary. In response to the criticism, Abraham chose to delete the post, perhaps recognizing the unintended controversy it had stirred.

The incident highlights the delicate nature of interactions between Nollywood personalities and the scrutiny they face from fans and the media. Despite Abraham's intentions to commend the event and its organizers, her words inadvertently fueled speculation of rivalry, underscoring the complexities of relationships within the industry.
