Queen Tobi Philips, one of the wives of the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has shared a heartfelt reflection as she anticipates her first birthday as a mother. In a touching video, Queen Tobi expressed gratitude to her sibling for their unwavering support during her pregnancy and postpartum period.
Recalling her vow to God, she shared memories of being bedridden on her last birthday, only to be uplifted by her brother who insisted she prepare her favorite meal, Coconut Fried Rice, and cheered her up with music, cake, and ice cream.
Queen Tobi revealed how she prayed to God, asking to be in a genuinely joyful mood for her next birthday. She expressed her gratitude to God for fulfilling this wish, celebrating her first birthday as a mother with immense joy and appreciation.
In her Instagram post, she wrote, "It’s my birthday tomorrow but first, I want to publicly appreciate this sibling of mine. For supporting me through my pregnancy and after @philsthedj, God bless you because you go all out for me, just like I would for you."
Reflecting on her promise to God, she added, "So before getting out of bed that day 4th June 2023, I made a deal with God… I said, 'Dear God, you see how I have to act as if I’m in the best of moods today, please let me be in Real Best of Moods come 4th of June 2024,' so I can tell the World that you did this for me. AND HERE WE ARE."
She concluded by praising God’s faithfulness and acknowledging the blessings through her children’s names: "My First Birthday Being MUVA and I am in Awe of God’s Goodness because he Counts me Worthy. All Glory And Adorations Belong to Almighty God The Alpha and The Omega The Ancient of Days Because, Oluwasemilore & Oluwatamilore (Oluwasemilore – God Grants me Favor) (Oluwatamilore – God Gives me Gifts)."
