"The pressure you fans put on us is too much. Celebrities have emotions and they feel pain too." Dayo Amusa Speaks Out on Toyin Abraham's Controversy

Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has taken to social media to address the ongoing issue involving actress Toyin Abraham. She highlighted the often unseen challenges and disappointments celebrities face, noting that their lack of privacy means every action is scrutinized on social media. Despite this, fans frequently bully, insult, and harass them.

She wrote:

"Being a celebrity may seem glamorous and enviable to many, but it comes with challenges, disappointments, and pains often hidden from the public eye. Every move we make is watched, criticized, and scrutinized by the media, bloggers, and online judges. We lack privacy and struggle to maintain personal space. The need to constantly present a polished image can be exhausting, let alone dealing with constant online harassment, insults, backlash, and bullying. There are unnecessary unrealistic expectations, overwhelming schedules, and difficulties in forming genuine friendships and relationships due to trust issues and fear of exploitation. The stigma around mental health prevents us from openly discussing our struggles. The constant comparison to peers and predecessors can lead to feelings of inadequacy.

Please remember that behind the glamour and fame, celebrities feel pain too. We are human and face challenges, difficulties, disappointments, and pains. Stop killing us with your keypads. Let’s work towards creating a more empathetic society and be kind.

@toyin_abraham, you have done well by speaking your truth, and you are loved. Oni foju sun kun omo.
