Nollywood actor and filmmaker Yomi Fabiyi has expressed his support for an upcoming solidarity assembly organized by an NGO in honor of the late singer Ilerioluwa Promise, popularly known as Mohbad. The event is set to take place on September 11th, 2024, in front of The High Court (Coroner Inquest) in Ikorodu, Lagos, just before the first anniversary of Mohbad’s tragic death.
Mohbad, who was a former signee of Naira Marley’s record label, died under mysterious circumstances at the age of 27 on September 12th, 2023. Following his death, disturbing videos surfaced, showing the late singer being bullied by his former boss and associates. The Nigerian police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
In light of this, Break The Silence Foundation is organizing a peaceful solidarity assembly to demand justice for Mohbad. The foundation has called on supporters to gather at the designated location, emphasizing that the event will be conducted with respect and without any noise, music, or chanting.
Reacting to the initiative on his Instagram page, Yomi Fabiyi reposted the announcement, writing:
