Controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, known as Portable, is facing massive backlash on social media for his comments about EndBadGovernance protesters. In a viral video, Portable criticized the ongoing nationwide protests, which began on August 1st. He responded to critics who reminded him of his participation in the EndSARS protest years ago, explaining that he was poor at the time, which motivated him to join.
Portable labeled current protesters as "poor and lazy," claiming their joblessness was the reason they were protesting. He urged them to fight for themselves, saying, "You don’t have work. That’s why you’re protesting. Fight for yourself. Poor man thinking is protest. Most of the EndBadGovernance protesters are poor and lazy people."
These remarks have sparked widespread criticism online, with many condemning his views as insensitive and dismissive.
