Nollywood actress Wumi Toriola has joined the growing list of celebrities applauding filmmaker Femi Adebayo for his exceptional work in the movie Seven Doors, now streaming on Netflix. The film features a stellar cast, including Chioma Akpotha, Dele Odule, Kolawole Ajeyemi, and Wumi herself.


Taking to Instagram, Wumi expressed her admiration for Femi’s creative genius. She revealed that from the film's production, she suspected he was working on something extraordinary. As a literature student, she was impressed by how literature was vividly transformed into visual storytelling. Calling Seven Doors a "masterpiece," she celebrated the cast and crew for their outstanding contributions.


She wrote:

"I knew @femiadebayosalami was up to something big and crãzy from the set of Seven Doors. As a student of literature, I saw literature being brought to visual. This work of art is a masterpiece. To the cast and crew of Seven Doors, yass, we did a thing—no, thingssssssssssssssssss!”


Femi Adebayo’s reputation as a filmmaker has been on the rise since his Netflix debut with Jagun Jagun, a blockbuster that shattered records with 2.1 million views globally and ranked 5th on Netflix’s Non-English Charts.


The filmmaker has also received critical acclaim. In October, Jagun Jagun bagged seven nominations at the 2024 Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA), including Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Achievement in Costume Design, and Achievement in Makeup. Additionally, at the 2023 Best of Nollywood Awards, Femi won four awards, including Best Actor, Best Use of Costume, Best Art Design, and Best Use of Effects, which he dedicated to the people of Kwara State.


In a recent interview, Femi disclosed the sacrifices behind his success, revealing that he sold his properties to fund Jagun Jagun, a multi-billion-naira project, as he preferred not to rely on external funding. He also opened up about the inspirations and challenges that shaped his filmmaking journey.
