Anticipation is soaring as Nollywood star and filmmaker Lateef Adedimeji gears up for the release of Lisabi Season 2. The award-winning actor recently took to Instagram to announce that the sequel to his critically acclaimed film Lisabi is almost here.
In his post, Lateef shared his excitement, revealing that the official trailer would be unveiled soon. He described the upcoming project as a masterpiece and teased fans with a mystery, challenging them to guess the identity of a masked character in the film. Lateef wrote:
“The wait is over; the official trailer of Lisabi 2 – A Legend is Born drops tomorrow, and we’re excited because you’re about to witness greatness. Look at this image—who do you think is behind the mask? There might be a little gift for anyone who guesses correctly.”

Lateef’s Struggles to Fund Lisabi
In an interview on City 105.1FM, Lateef disclosed that funding the project was far more demanding than anticipated, requiring him to consider selling his car. He shared:
“We had a particular budget for this film, but we ended up spending five times more. It was extremely tough. At one point, I put my car up for sale, thinking, ‘If someone buys it now, I’ll have the money.’ Luckily, I didn’t find a buyer. Instead, a few people offered financial support, telling me to return the money when I could.”
Despite the hurdles, Lisabi became a landmark production, earning widespread acclaim. Fans are now eagerly awaiting the sequel, which promises to deliver even greater storytelling and cinematic excellence.
