Renowned Yoruba actor Samson Folarin, popularly known as Baba Kukute, recently opened up about a memorable and humbling experience from his childhood that profoundly shaped his values.

In an interview with Nigbati TV, the veteran actor recounted how he was caught stealing meat from his mother’s pot and the severe punishment he received as a result.

Sharing the story, he said:

"My mother cooked some meat and left it in the room before going out. I decided to take some, but the pot fell on my face, spilling the meat and soup all over me. I couldn’t see clearly until my mother returned. She didn’t react immediately but waited until the middle of the night to report me to my brothers. I was beaten mercilessly and tied up. Since then, I have never tried to steal anything from anyone."

Reflecting on the incident, Baba Kukute emphasized how that discipline taught him a lasting lesson about honesty and integrity. He urged others to avoid taking what doesn’t belong to them, sharing his story as a cautionary tale.
