Veteran Actress Lola Thompson Reveals Harrowing Experience in Yoruba Film Industry

Veteran Yoruba actress Lola Thompson has recounted her disturbing experiences in the Yoruba film industry, including being kidnapped and confined for seven years by a fellow actor.

In an interview on Kunleafod TV's official YouTube channel, Lola shared that the actor used charms to manipulate her into falling in love with him. She explained that he kept her locked in his house, isolating her from friends and family, and even cutting off her ties to the movie industry.

“When I starred in a movie as the lead role, an actor noticed my performance and invited me for a stage play. I agreed, but he used a charm on me, had sex with me, and kept me confined in his house for seven years," she revealed.

Lola added that she lived in bondage, unable to leave or communicate with anyone. Eventually, the charm wore off, and she escaped. However, her ordeal didn’t end there. The actor reportedly sent hoodlums to threaten her and warned her not to return to the movie industry unless she came back to him.

Her revelation has sparked discussions about the challenges women face in the entertainment industry and calls for better protection for vulnerable actors.
