Late Alaafin’s Wife, Queen Dami’s Mother, Speaks Out on Feud with Portable in a Live Video

The mother of Queen Dami, one of the late Alaafin of Oyo’s wives, has broken her silence amid the ongoing social media controversy involving her daughter and street-pop artist Portable, popularly known as Portable Zazu.

A live video of Queen Dami’s mother addressing the feud has surfaced online, drawing mixed reactions from Nigerians.

In the video, Queen Dami’s visibly emotional mother recounted her warnings to her daughter about associating with Portable. She revealed that she had advised Dami never to communicate with Portable, including refusing his calls when he sought prayers from her. However, she expressed disappointment, stating, “I didn’t know when she started talking to him behind my back.”

The distressed mother accused Portable of making contradictory claims. According to her, Portable had previously assured her that Queen Dami was not promiscuous but later went online to accuse her of infidelity. She demanded that Portable publicly apologize to the people of Ibadan and Oyo, as well as to her personally, if he still wanted any association with Queen Dami.

The video also showed Queen Dami seated in the back seat of the car while her mother spoke, adding another layer of tension to the ongoing drama.

The feud gained attention when Portable accused Queen Dami of infidelity, allegedly based on claims made by her friend, Wunmi. The accusations and ensuing online exchanges reportedly caused Queen Dami significant distress, leading to reports of her fainting.

The video sparked varied reactions online, with some criticizing Queen Dami and her mother, while others offered words of encouragement.

@mummygiohusseinvblog: “She should go and get a job and face her life.”

@_kiki_opemipo: “Mummy Dami needs a cane. Ma, find the neighborhood elders.”

@iambablow: “Even if it’s voodoo, I command it to break by the power of Almighty GOD. Baby girl, if you’re seeing this, know you will overcome. Stay prayerful and don’t return to the past that hurt you.”

@jarvis_olamide: “Like mother, like daughter. Shaking my head. It’s obvious the woman isn’t wise either. Instead of cutting ties, she’s demanding Portable apologize on social media.”

This ongoing drama continues to unfold, with many Nigerians keenly watching the developments between Portable, Queen Dami, and her family.
