"Stop Dragging Our Father’s Name into Public Conversations," Children of Late Alaafin of Oyo Warn Queen Dami Against Tarnishing the Monarch's Legacy

The children of the late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, have issued a stern warning to his former wife, Damilola Shukurat Moshood, also known as Queen Dami, over her remarks involving the late monarch. They threatened legal action if she continues to drag their father's name and legacy into her public disputes.

In a letter dated January 22, the family expressed their concerns about Queen Dami’s comments online, urging her to focus on her personal matters without referencing the late king. They stated that any further actions tarnishing their father’s memory or the family’s reputation would result in legal consequences.

Queen Dami, who was the last wife of the Alaafin, has recently been embroiled in an online feud with her ex-partner, singer Portable. The children of the monarch have noticed that their father's name has been repeatedly mentioned in the spat, prompting them to take this step.

The late Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, who passed away in April 2022, was one of Nigeria’s most respected traditional rulers, and his family emphasized the importance of preserving his legacy.
