Actor Samuel Ajirebi Reflects on Choosing Education Over Childhood Fame, Credits Parents for Life-Changing Decision

Samuel Olasehinde Ajirebi, a 31-year-old Nollywood actor and law graduate from Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), has opened up about prioritizing education over the fame he gained as a child actor. The son of veteran actor Pa James, popularly known as Pa Ajirebi from Papa Ajasco and Company, Samuel shared insights into his upbringing and the sacrifices his parents made for his future.

In a recent interview with Oyinmomo TV, Samuel revealed that his mother once pursued a career in acting but made the conscious decision to step away from the industry to focus on raising their family. He explained that although he never saw her on screen, she had a background in acting but willingly gave up her career, encouraging Pa Ajirebi to continue while she dedicated herself to their home.

"As I was told, before she got married, she was an actress. But she loved the idea of her husband being in the industry while she focused on the family. She wasn’t forced to step aside; she did it for the future of her children," he shared.

Samuel also credited his parents for ensuring he completed his education instead of chasing childhood fame. He noted that his success as a child actor was only a stepping stone and that his parents never let fame or money distract them from securing his future.

"Everything was my parents’ decision. They understood that whatever I achieved as a child actor was just a rehearsal for what I could become with proper education. They were not swayed by the fame and money I had at the time," he added.

Samuel Ajirebi’s story highlights the importance of education and parental guidance in shaping a successful career beyond early fame.
