Nollywood actress Omobolarinde Akinyanju, popularly known as Ashabi, has publicly celebrated the release of her baby daddy, singer Portable, from police detention.
Taking to Instagram, Ashabi shared a romantic video of herself with the singer, where he was seen resting affectionately on her chest. She mentioned that the clip had been saved in her drafts and joked about not knowing Portable would change his appearance so soon. She also expressed her gratitude to God, writing, “This video dey my draft. I no know say baba go change look soon, but Alhamdulilahi.”
As previously reported, Portable was arrested by the Kwara State Police Command over allegations of criminal defamation against Fuji icon Saheed Osupa. Charges against him included threat to life, incitement, character assassination, and conduct likely to breach peace. The singer was remanded after failing to meet bail conditions, which included ₦1 million and two sureties, one being a PMAN chairman.
However, on Tuesday, Saheed Osupa decided to drop the case after receiving pleas from several respected Nigerians. In a statement, he revealed that although Portable crossed the line, he agreed to forgive him under three conditions set by his team.
While Portable was still in custody, Ashabi premiered her new Yoruba film titled The Deputy. Videos from the premiere showed her making a dramatic entrance, dressed in billionaire-inspired fashion, holding a walking stick and flanked by female bouncers, as fans cheered her on.
The online reactions praised Ashabi for staying supportive and stylish, even during a stormy moment in her personal life.
