Nollywood star Toyin Abraham has stepped in to clear the air amid online drama involving her colleague Iyabo Ojo’s daughter, Priscilla Ojo, and a fake X (formerly Twitter) account.
The controversy began after the 17th edition of the Headies Awards, which took place at the Landmark Event Centre in Lagos. Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, who attended the event with his wife, Priscilla Ojo, bagged the award for Best East African Artiste of the Year.
In his acceptance speech, Juma Jux thanked God, his wife, his team, fans, and the organisers for recognizing East African talent.
However, shortly after, an X user, Oku Yungx, sparked criticism by alleging that Juma married Priscilla for clout and recognition in Nigeria. A reply from an account bearing Priscilla’s name sarcastically confirmed the claim, praising Juma as “smart, calculative, and hardworking.”
Reacting swiftly, Toyin Abraham issued a public statement via her verified Twitter account, distancing Priscilla from the trending post. She clarified:
“Please, Priscilla doesn’t have a Twitter account. This is a fake account. Priscilla is not on Twitter.”
Her clarification came amid rising confusion and online debates over the authenticity of the post, as many had begun dragging Priscilla and questioning her relationship with the Tanzanian star.
Toyin’s statement helped to dispel the rumors, and fans thanked her for stepping in to protect Priscilla’s name.
