"I Don’t Like to Identify as ADHD, But I Have It" – Rapper Lil Kesh Opens Up About Mental Health Struggles

Popular Nigerian rapper and songwriter Lil Kesh has opened up about his personal struggle with mental health, revealing that he has been battling undiagnosed ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and anxiety.

In a candid interview, the former YBNL signee shared that although he hasn't received a formal medical diagnosis, he is confident that he has ADHD. According to him, he diagnosed himself after years of experiencing symptoms that go beyond casual forgetfulness or restlessness.

“I don’t like to identify as ADHD, but I have ADHD. I diagnosed myself, but trust me, I know,” he said.

Lil Kesh noted that while many people loosely associate themselves with having ADHD, in his case, the condition is serious and dates back to his childhood. He explained that life in the spotlight, combined with personal issues, has worsened the symptoms over time.

He identified uncertainty as his biggest trigger, stating that not having clarity about his emotions or situations leads to heightened anxiety.

“Everybody has a particular level of ADHD to them. But it’s bad when it becomes a disorder. I’ve had my fair share since I was a kid,” he said.

“I feel like not knowing, lack of clarity… that’s one thing that can give me anxiety. Once I know what I’m dealing with or what emotion I’m actually feeling, the problem is already halfway solved.”

Lil Kesh’s openness about mental health has sparked conversations online, with many fans praising him for speaking out and encouraging others to seek understanding and healing.
